At the opera after the opera

Description:

The concert-show “At the opera after the opera” will introduce the public to the world of opera transcriptions: a great number of paraphrases, duets, and arias excerpt from the most representatives Italian operas of XIX century, like Rossini’s “Barber of Seville”, Donizetti’s “Elisir d’amore”, Bellini’s “Norma” and many others, together with very famous arias composed by Francesco Paolo Tosti.

With interesting transcriptions, the Ensemble will recreate the atmosphere of an aristocratic salon of the end of XIX century, when the most famous chamber music or the most fashionable opera arias were performed by small chamber groups through transcriptions and variations. The virtuoso instrumental transcriptions performed by the Ensemble Giordano and one among the finest narrators in Italy will make you dream for one night and will let you smell the powdered atmosphere of the late Romantic epoch.
