NEWS: The Ensemble "Umberto Giordano" pays tribute to Giuseppe Verdi

IDA FRATTA - She started her studies at Academy of Music "G. Verdi", Milan (Conservatorio "G. Verdi" di Milano) and she finished at Academy of Music "U. Giordano" , Foggia (Conservatorio "U. Giordano di Foggia), where she got her Bachelor of Music in Piano, Vocal Chamber Music and after in Singing and Harpsichord with the best final marks.

In the meantime she got her Law Degree (Laurea in Giurisprudenza) and Musical Disciplines with honors.

Since she was 8 years old she began her concert career as pianist at the beginning and after as singer, for the most prestigious Italian concert institutions such as :Festival della Valle d’Itria, Teatro comunale di Atri, Teatro “Sanzio “ di Urbino, Teatro “U. Giordano “ di Foggia, Teatro Oratorio Pontificio di S. Pietro di Roma, Teatro Comunale di Lanciano, Associazione “S. Rachmaninov di Salerno. She performed in concerts, touring in Germany, Poland, Austria, Greece, Turkey, Israel, Sweden, Lithuania, India and Australia.

Her singing technique, especially appreciated within the chamber lieder repertoire, where she gets specialized, brings her touring around in several European Countries and other, especially with the German, French and English lieder repertoire and Italian chamber repertoire, which give her the most flattering appreciation from the specialized Press.

She attends several masterclasses graduating in 1900’s Singing Diploma Merit – Monographic Class about Tosti and the American singing technique with J. Sewell .

She completes her studies in lieder and opera repertoire with the master Elio Battaglia and Lucio Gallo at the “H. Wolf” High School, in Acquasparta (Terni), where she attends her classes about German lied with Christa Ludwig. Winning many prices in over 30 National and International Contests , as a soloist and in ensembles , she records for Bongiovanni in Bologna and Velut Luna in Padova.

She is part of the “U. Giordano” ensemble since its beginning, she records with this ensemble the CD “All’opera dopo l’Opera” (At the opera after the opera), and after this publication, very successful with the national specialized music criticism, she tours around with the ensemble in many European Countries.

She teached piano at Conservatorio “N. Piccinni” in Bari, and “U. Giordano” in Foggia and vocal chamber music in Monopoli.

Right now she teaches at Conservatory of music in Piacenza (Italy).
