NEWS: The Ensemble "Umberto Giordano" pays tribute to Giuseppe Verdi

ANTONIO AMENDUNI, Italian flutist, has performed as soloist at Carnegie Hall-Perelman Hall, UN-United Nation Building, New York University, DiCapo Opera Theatre of New York (U.S.A.), Parco della Musica of Rome, Teatro Regio of Parma, Sala Verdi of Milan (Italy), Mozart Hall of Seoul and Mokpo Theatre (South Corea), Royal Thatre of Bucarest (Rumania), Ateneo de Madrid (Spain). He’s been invited to the flutists conventions of Rome, Milan, Kansas City (U.S.A.), Sidney (Australia) and in the Festivals of Berlin Festwochen, Dresden Musikfestspiele (Germany), Toulouse Festival (France), Festival of Brest (Belarus), Columbus Festival of New York (U.S.A.) Festival Martisor of Kishnev (Moldova), Perugia Classico, Emilia Romagna Festival, Ascoli Piceno Festival, Festival Verdi di Parma. He is cited in the updated DEUMM of the UTET encyclopaedia.

Antonio Amenduni started his musical studies at the State Music Conservatory “Niccolo’ Piccinni” in Bari and then specialized with the most important exponents of international flutism such as Peter Lukas Graf, Angelo Persichilli, Severino Gazzelloni, Maxènce Larrieu and Aurèle Nicolet, who said: “…he has given proof of excellent musical qualities: a beautiful sound, exceptional technical ability and personality and talent in artistically elaborating musical form”. Since he was very young, he conquered the esteem of juries at a number of national and international competitions amongst the most important of which he won the “Nino Rota” in Bari, the “Citta’ di Stresa”, the "Francesco Cilea" in Palmi, the "Pergolesi" in Naples, the "Città di Caltanisetta" and the "Città di Trapani" prizes.
At 23 he won a scolarship offered by the European Economic Community to take part in the "European Community Youth Orchestra", and he later becomes principal flute in the orchestra of the "Teatro dell'Opera" in Rome. Finalist in the "Berliner Philarmoniker" Orchestra contest, he collaborated with the Philarmonic Orchestra of "La Scala" in Milan, performing with prestigious conductors, among whom Zubin Metha, Mitoslav Rostropovic, Pierre Dervaux, Valery Gergiev.

As soloist, he performs with the Symphonic Orchestras of Bari, Lecce and Taranto, with "I Solisti Aquilani", the Orchestra of the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, U.E.C.O. in Milan, Symphony Orchestra of Bacau (Rumania), National Symphony Orchestra of Kiev and Orchestra of Lvov (Ucraine), East European Philharmonic Orchestra (Russia), Moldavian National Chamber Orchestra in Kishnev (Moldova), Chamber Orchestra and Philarmonic of Brest (Belarus), Collegium Musicum, London Primavera Orchestra (Great Britain).

He collaborated with musicians like Antonio Ballista, Patrick Gallois, Konstantin Bogino, Fabrice Pierre, Luis Bacalov. His recordings have been transmitted by RAI-Radiotre and he has recorded with Decca, Sony, Valdom, Rugginenti, Falaut, Sirynx, Radio Slovena, producing many musical CDs. He holds a permanent post at the “State Conservatory of Music and Institute of High Culture “Umberto Giordano” in Foggia as second level lecturer for the Biennial Specialisation in music and he also teaches at the Italian Flute Academy (Rome).

He is regularly invited to hold Master Classes at Italian and foreign Music Associations and Academies, and he is Artist-testimonial in the world for the famous American flute manufacturer Powell.
